Hokkaido Museum

This is newly renovated museum and there are many sections that might be of interest to foreigners who can get to know Hokkaido well.  The entrance is greeted by a Mammoth & elephant skeleton. Only did I learn that Mammoth used to claim Hokkaido!

There is an interesting old train that remind me of the old Japanese drama ( 阿信). The other interesting section is about nature which kids will love it very much! We spent 3 hours just to play the acorn non stop. There is also awareness to care for animals in this section.  Remember to walk to the next block, at the basement is a culture room where you get to do craft and play traditional games. These are different from those in Historic Village.

The efforts and concern to exhibit the history is impressive,  Kids have opportunity to explore and learn too.

Please note that there is a package for Historic Village & Hokkaido Museum. It is a good promotion! Kids below age 6 are free, while kids below high school are free for Hokkaido Historic Village.
